Everyday I hear some snippet of an idea that just gets stuck in my brain and gives me food for the day. Today I am thinking about someone who "labors in obscurity" and wouldn't that be most of us?
I am not a big fan of sports but in my driftings I sometimes find myself carried along by these waves created by major sports events. Yesterday was the Master's Golf Tournament. On the radio they were talking about how the winner Zack Johnson's life was going to be changing. He was described as someone who had a rookie win but no notoriety for some years. Now that was all changing. He had spent years "laboring in obscurity," but now had achieved the ultimate in recognition.
But for most, our labors remain in obscurity. And that is ok. We've got lots of company.
Becoming a great golfer might seem like a crazy life goal to me but when any someone manages to rise above then it can be like a little victory for everyone everwhere.
